The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Sri Sarbanada Sonowal formally inaugurated the Madhabdev University in a Grand Function held at Narayanpur on 23.09.2019. Hon’ble Education Minister Sri Siddartha Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Handloom and Textile Minister Sri Ranjit Dutta, Hon’ble Minister of Cultural Affairs Sri Naba Kumar Doley, Hon’ble MP of Tezpur Sri Pallab Lochan Das, Media Adviser to the Chief Minister Sri Hrishikesh Goswami, MLA of Bihpuria Sri Debananda Hazarika, MLA of Gohpur Sri Utpal Borah, MLA of Biswanath Sri Pramod Borthakur and MLA of Lakhimpur Sri Utpal Dutta, Director of Cultural Affairs and many other dignitaries attended the occasion. A souvenir was also inaugurated by the Hon’bleChief Minister to commemorate the occasion. In his speech the Hon’ble Chief Minister expected that this new University would be able to enlighten theentire northern bank of the river Brahmaputra by disseminating knowledge and values. Hon’ble Education Minister Sri Siddartha Bhattacharya in his speech said that the Government of Assam is committed to offer better education to the students and hoped that Madhabdev University would work in this direction. In the function, the Hon’ble Chief Minister also presented Government of Assam’s prestigious Sri Sri Madhabdev Award to Sri Jogadananda Chandra Goswami and Dr. Sunil Kothari.
